Electromagnet beam and an AGV Car for Gestamp
One of our latest on demand solutions was the design, manufacturing and testing of two systems. They are an extensible electromagnet as well as a transfer car for Gestamp.
Today we bring you brand new pictures of these solutions so you can check for yourself the results.
AGV Transfer car
The electric transfer cart is self-propelled and remote-controlled and comes with power cable. Is designed for a transport through 2 metal rails with a greatest slope of 3%. This car’s purpose is to transport stored steel plates on a polyethylene-covered bed .
The AGV Car’s 2 assembled electric motors move two of the four steel wheels. They allow a largest speed without load of 130 ft / min. When the weight sensor system detects full loading, it reduces speed to 7 ft / min for safety reasons.
There is more support: 4 folding arms at each corner of the cart, and 8 along the sides.
It also includes a radar system on the front and rear. This is for obstacle detection: people or objects along the road of the AGV car. The transfer car slows down if it detects an obstacle and, when the distance is minimal, it stops.
Magnetic lifting beam
The second of the elements of this on demand solution is the electromagnet beam, consisting of 4 brackets assembled on the main body. Each holder contains 2 permanent lifting electromagnet modules.
The electromagnets magnetize the steel plates’ surface, so they avoid possible damages. This also allows a safe transport during the process of both lifting and storing the plates.
The telescopic beams increase or decrease distance between modules. The client can select how many modules are magnetized.
You can use different selections of the magnetic lifting beam, depending on the section of the tool to be magnetized and the lifting load.
