MAGNET LIFTING SYSTEMS FOR ROLLS METAL TRANSPORTATION
At Railsider Mediterráneo, Portbou, we produced a solution for handling wire rod coils thanks to two motorized rotating magnets with 2500 Kg SWL.
In this project the challenge was to unload and rotate the rolls in a very fast and safe way, with the crane operator at a safe distance from the load and without the need to get on the train wagon.
When transporting coils or metal sheets, it is very important to take into account that there is a constantly changing ratio of the length to the width. In our solution the magnets are equipped with a motor and additional functions to adapt them to the specific conditions of the load while avoiding direct human contact.
The operator can remotely handle all kinds of rolls, whether in fully-rolled lengths, non-standard dimensions or various formatted lengths.
